Port
Stephens is a major coastal recreation
and holiday destination located
about 2 ½ hours
north of Sydney. It has spectacular
natural beauty and is known as the
Blue Water Paradise of NSW. Covering
over 166 sq kilometers of water,
the Ports waterways are approximately
2 ½ times the size of Sydney
Harbour. Port Stephens is a Mecca for experienced and learner divers offering an extensive range of dive spots and a variety of marine life. It is well known for its resident population of over 150 bottlenose dolphins. These dolphins are regularly spotted from the shoreline and from the regular dolphin watch cruises. Between May and July Humpback Whales can be viewed traveling north and returning south between September and November. The Port is also famous for its fishing with great fishing inside the Port from the shore and on the water and at the many off-shore reefs. Oyster farms within the Port produce high quality Sydney Rock and Pacific oysters. On land, the Port Stephens region boasts exceptional diversity of what to see and do and Tomaree National Park between Shoal and Anna Bays has walking trails with spectacular panoramic views. The region also offers an extensive range of sporting and recreational facilities and a range of restaurants, cafes and bars. To the west of the Port, the Karuah Valley is a picturesque visual hinterland with meandering waterways, ecodestinations and a variety of agricultural pursuits. Lemon Tree Passage is a small peaceful
township located on the Tilligerry
peninsula on the south western shores
of Port Stephens. The Peninsula is
almost an island and is best known
for its large native Koala population.
Idyllic waterfront areas and its
peaceful atmosphere. It attracts
families, nature and boating enthusiasts. The 2 Dogs Cottages
are situated in a quiet part of
the township within 5 minutes walk
to the shops, cafes, marina and
club. It is a few minutes walk
to the shores of Tilligerry Creek.
It is within an easy walking distance
to dog exercise areas and a short
drive to a dog friendly beach.
